A DAY OF FUN AND FROLIC - RECAL BANGLORE EVENT !!

RECAL, the Alumni Association of NIT Trichy,Bangalore Chapter hosted the Welcome Party for the 2008 freshers (2008 NITT passed out) @ IndiraNagar Club on 23rd August.The event was a hit from the start, with huge attendees,both from the 2008 freshers and the non-2008 members.,. We were graced by the presence of esteemed Alumni's such as Mr.Natarayan, 1971 batch, Mr.Prakash, 1972 batch,K.Balachandrakant, 1979 Batch, Mr.ChandraMouli, 1979 batch etc as well as other Senior Alumni's such as Mr.Subbu, Mr.Srinivas,..

The event took off with the welcome address by Mr.Rajan Narayanan, 1979 Batch, and currently the Senior Vice President of MindTree, who welcomed the 2008 freshers into the family of RECAL Bang Chapter. Then,we had Mr.Mahesh,1996 Batch, Sr. Business Manger,Manipal group , who took over the role of the conducting the Show. First,we had the ice-breaking session wherein the audience had to regroup based on their months of birth.,. With the group sufficiently regrouped, with the mix of 2008 freshers and non-2008 Alumni's there was a small intro talk given by a representative from each group about the other members.

With the flow well set, next we had a interactive quiz show based on 3 themes, Independence Day,Beijing Olympics and REC & Trichy,., The quiz show was well responded with, every group coming up with answers instantly.,. Though they were some interesting bouncers as well., like, In which year did 2 batch graduate,Which theatre in trichy has been listed in the Limca Book of Records and What is the significance of the name "Ponni" in the history of REC,Trichy. The quiz was followed by a dumb charades round about the places in and around Trichy, which got over as soon it started., :)

Then we had the declaration of names of the new office bearers for the RECAL BANG CHAPTER, with Mr.Rajan being nominated the President of the RECAL Bang Chapter, Mr.Ajay Sharma (1992 Batch), The Vice-President, Mr.Ganapathy(1987 batch) The Secretary role, Abishiek Gutgutia(2005 Batch), the role of Joint-Secretary and Mr.Apoorva Sahu(2005) the role of Treasurer.

It was followed by a brainstorming session for deciding the kinds of the activities for the upcoming year.,. After gauging the interest of the members as well the ideas,we broke up for dinner, with everyone using the occasion to know our senior alumni's and get some gyan. The interaction went up till 10:30, and not only our tummies were filled, we also had the satisfaction of meeting distinguished alumni's and sharing their experiences.,. It was indeed a happy way to conclude, because of the enthusiasm shown by one and all in making the event a memorable meet. I would like to extend my warm thanks to all who came to the meet on behalf of the organizers...

A lot more has to come in the coming days.,. The Show has just began !! :)
