THE "PERFECT" SHOW

I believe firmly that the more one learns, the more one empowers himself. and that it is better to learn things from other's experiences. I always find it fun and interesting to read great people's autobiography as it gives you a chance to look the world through that person's eyes.
And as they say, one idea can change our life. So , i go on and on to find the idea which will change my life.

Its not only great people who can teach us something. Often there are so many people around us, from whom we can learn from. The learning you get by meeting new people is always refreshing. I had come across one blog in which the host interviewed someone and publishes the interview in his blog.I have always played with the idea of hosting a show . Now that i got an opportunity, i decided upon the "PERFECT" Show. The "PERFECT" show goes on like this, where participants will be asked the following Questions.

THE "PERFECT" SHOW:

P- Passionate - What are you passionate about in Life ?

E- Enlighten other - What have you learnt in your life( other than academics), which you would like to share with others ?

R- Rebel - If you are given a wish to change one thing in world, what would you change ?

F - Favourite Fable hero/Your Favourite Mythological Hero and why ?

E - Evangelize - What would you like to evangelize in your life ?

C - What is your charm, which you feel attracts people to you.

T - Your Thumb Rule for Life ?

What i want to achieve through this is to reach many people from various region & get to know their thoughts, how they view life and their passions. Iam passionate about life, so i think that will be definitely useful for me as well for people, who are like-minded like me.

Surely the above 7 questions may/maynot reveal much about people, but what i know for sure, is that i can get a glimpse of people views & stumble upon something interesting. I hope this proves helpful to you also.

As the saying goes, No one is Perfect. Iam No one.

Perfectness is not an ideal, rather a state which one attains after a long journey of imperfectness. Iam on my way :)

Shocking Incident - Theft Attempt in Bus !!

This incident happened to one of my friend who was travelling in Bus. Iam describing the incident as he told me. My friend who wishes to remain anonymous, was travelling from IIM towards Jaideva hospital flyover on Banerghatta road on bus(route) No 369 "some suffix" .The bus was very crowded and suddenly he found that a group of ruffians had encircled him and did not allow him to move towards either front or back side of the bus.

Since he was carrying a significant amount of money(which he had kept in his jeans pocket) he tried to bring his hand towards his pocket. But they did not allow him to move his hand properly.Suddenly he found that someone had taken his specs and it was then he realised that some foul play is happening. He started shouting "please leave me,leave me." Then he noticed that the money which he had kept in his pocket was missing.

He started shouting that someone has taken his money. Fortunately one gentleman in the bus pointed that money was lying on the floor of the bus. (probably the criminal(s) may hav lost grip over the money). My friend gathered the money and rushed to the driver of the bus who then took the bus to the nearest police station.

The policemen told him to identify the criminals which he could not. Then they caught four persons from the bus on their own, probably because policemen recognise criminals of their area.(Who knows if they have an understanding with the ruffians ?? )

Then one of the policemen told him to go on the same police van ,which was carrying the criminals, to the police station and register a complaint. I refused to go in the same vehicle. (For what, so that the criminals can trash him in some place, in presence of the police ?? )

Then the policeman took his statement on a plain paper and finally asked him to give some money because they had caught four persons due to him !!!! ( A heroic act !! ) Initially he refused but when the policeman insisted he gave him some amount !! Then he hired a auto and left for his home.,. This left him in a much bitter state.

Ok, now to why iam discussing this in my blog. My friend was of the opinion that awareness must be created among people about this kinds of incidents so that they are better equipped to handle the situation, if they encounter (God forbid that ) one. As for me, from now onwards,I will ensure while boarding a crowded bus, i will take extra precautions to protect my belongings.

And regarding the police taking money, Iam clueless of what to make of that. !! If someone can shed light on that for everyone's benefit. (what can be done and what could have been done in that situation ?), it will be much appreciable.

P.S: Thanks to my friend for sharing this info, with me as well as his desire to share this incident with everyone.

Compromise or Conscience !!

If a Man must choose either his comfort or conscience, which one should he choose ? The likely answer will be Conscience. But does that really happens ? Suppose the Question is which will he choose ? Probably, Comfort would have been the answer.

This is what has been depicted in the movie Halla Bol. When faced with a critical situation, a man tends to take the easy way even though it means being blind to some things, acting as if that thing has never happened. But pretending isnt going to help in the long run.

Ok now coming to the movie, Devgan is a part of the street play group where he is considered as an actor with good acting talents. The group is lead by Pankaj Kapoor , who was formerly a famous dacoit who surrendered after hearing to the King Harichandra's Story. Later, Siddu(Pankaj) continues enacting street plays on themes which create social awareness among the masses. Devgan goes on to become a SuperStar in the tinsel-world. As he realises his dream, his personality also undergoes a total transformation, innocence replaced by deceit, truth by lies.. From a Man, who lived for his ideals , he became a Man, who prioritized his public-image more than his ideals.

Then an incident happens, which changes his life. He has to make a choice between Conscience or Comfort. Initially he pulls curtain over his eyes to pretend he can escape from the truth, but eventually his conscience takes over and he begans his fight for justice.

And that has been depicted well in the movie, When he becomes a Actor, he has all the money and fame, which the world longs for, but he loses everything- his wife's love, parents love and more importantly his own self worth. Ironically, once he decides to change , he loses everything the world gave him- his image, name & secure living. In return, he wins back his near & dear ones love. C'est la vie :)

How he fights for a cause and overcomes the obstacles to come out victoriously ( Yes, he does wins in his efforts.. Have you ever seen a Indian Movie yet ,in which the Hero doesnt Wins ?? ), you have to see the movie yourself to know that. :-)

Another noteworthy point made in the movie is that when an injustice happens around us generally we tend to ignore it. Why bother ourself with something when it doesnt involve us. As long as the scapegoat is a third person, why invite trouble ?? Thats how we tend to think first.,. Unfortunately, when we fail to stand up for a cause for another, it always means that anyday it will be us facing the same situation.

Like a saying goes " If you are not a part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. "

Actually, i wrote this post due to an incident which happened near my locality. I was standing near a shop, when i heard someone shouting and screaming. I looked towards the source of noise,to find a old lady shouting at a man, who was shabbily dressed. Seems the man had physically brushed himself against her. Didnt know if the man had done it intentionally or by mistake but by the way the lady shouted it looked like the man's intentions were bad.

What was surprising was that no one showed any signs of anything happening. Everyone around her went on with their own work, without even batting an eyelid. I am not suggesting that they should have catched up the guy and thrashed him up. (incase he was innocent), but atleast anyone could have raised a voice in support of the lady.

Hopefully the guy had went his way without causing any commotion. If it would have been, iam not sure how many would have come to the lady's rescue. (Even i was a mere spectator to the proceedings, telling myself, that if the situation got out of control, i will do something. So thinking of it now, it was wrong on my part...)

Not only this, few other incidents which have been happened in Bangalore, over 2 months or so, 5 software engineers rounded up by few rowdies and beat up in the Night, a young teenage girl being eve-teased by few guys who caused her injuries by dragging her along the road and she was traumatized for a long time.

I know these incidents are incredulous, yet they do happen. And one of the reason being, people not taking action against the wrong-doers and remain a silent spectator. We have a choice at that instance. Either to stand up for a cause or else fade into oblivion. A choice between Compromise or Conscience. The compromise choice will sound easy, yet there will be a small voice shouting all along saying that we should have stood for a cause..! Either we wait for something to happen in our life and then take action or else live a life with the conscience banished to oblivion !!

Taking the conscience path will invite pressure, troubles which will test our loyalty to it, But if we hold on till we win the battle, it will be an entirely different scenario, better left to be experienced, rather than expressed.

Make your Wish - Compromise or Conscience ??

Its a Wonderful Life !!

One of my friend had written a blog on a topic called "New", in which the freshness of "New" was described. What i liked about the blog was its reference to People finding life boring as they grow Older. Iam sure many of you will agree with the fact. When we are young, we see the world with all its splendour and the immense possibilities, but as time passes by, our vision narrows down. The blog suggested people looking beyond their drawn boundaries to find the joy in life.

Well, definitely one needs to unleash his true potential and open his vision to see the world in its true colors, and experience the unlimited joy and happiness. But the Question is how do u broaden your vision ? How do u make yourself see the world as a joyful and exciting place ?

Suppose we have a Magical Specs, which will help us to look beyond, what our eyes generally can perceive.Hmmm, sounds exciting isnt but chances of finding such things are remote. Which brings us back to the question, how do we broaden our vision...?

I had attempted to answer that Question, and here is my thought flows.
To appreciate Life one must appreciate oneself. As they say, If you want to change the world , you must change yourself first. This simple yet powerful thought escapes the understanding of many of us. We are continually failing to understand the impact we make in others life. Some might argue that it may not be so, if so let me ask a Question. When was the last time you went to your Parents/Siblings/Childrens and said you Love them. Do you really know how many care about you ? Except a few, not many of us have any idea about it, coz no one has come to us saying that they value our relationship, neither we express ourself to anyone.(except expressing to a gal;).

We seem to think that as one grows old , one is supposed to less expose his feelings. Alas, what we fail to see in this is that as we began to close ourself from expressing to others,we are inadvertently closing ourself to others. And once we began to live unconsciously in solitude, we began to lose interest in Life, the cause being "Our inability to realise the importance of our existence". Since we are blind to the difference we make in the life of others,we think that Life has no meaning and that it is boring, Ofcourse it has to be, Coz you have denied yourself
the chance to seek meaning in your life, by shutting yourself out.

We tend to look at the effect like "Life is boring, dull, uninteresting" and continue to get fed of our existence, same life, same routine, same this, same that . . . But what we should have been doing is to focus on the cause that is "What made life boring" , "Why does the same routine exist" ?

The individual's belief in himself has been well illustrated in the movie "Its a Wonderful Life" wherein the principal character decides to commit suicide, coz of the adverse circumstances he finds himself in and blaming himself for all that. Fortunately, his guardian Angel saves him by making him see the world without his existence, wherein he realises the difference he has made in the life of others in his lifetime. And then he gets the desire to live again, and finds himself enjoying life even he faces a possibility of being imprisoned. This happens coz, he realises his own self worth finally.

So the solution for renewed living : Find a purpose, which you can live for, one that will help you make a difference in the life's of others. It doesnt matter if you touch .000001% or 10% of people's life what matters eventually is what you lived for in your life and how your lived it. And before you do that, ensure you express yourself to as many of ur dear ones , your love and affection. And armed with your self-worth, go and live for that purpose.

Once you see your true potential, your true capability, life will never be the same again. I dont know if Guardian Angels may come to save us from adverse circumstances, but i know for sure that we can be a Guardian Angel to someone in adverse condition.

Signing off, wishing you all a Happy Living.,. :)

Its really a Wonderful Life !!

Count Your Blessings !!

I dreamed that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed

"How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked.
"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked. "Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.
"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ...you are richer than 75% of this world. "If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. "And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity." Also .... "If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .. you are ahead of 700 million people in the world."If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death . you are envied by , and more blessed than, three billion people in the world. "If your parents are still alive and still married ..you are very rare.If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you are unique to all those in doubt and despair."

Ok, what now? How can I start?
If you have read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Take time to realize the good things in your life and be grateful it. No matter how life treats you, give life a reason to be jealous of your generosity.

Miscellaneous Post - Fun Forum

You see, the advantage of subscribing to various groups is that you are assured of a mail daily. It gives you a feeling of importance & satisfaction that you get a new mail everyday. ;) . Anyhow, since iam following that policy , my inbox gets flooded with a mail everyday.
I have been following a process, called the "Mail-Redirection". Its simple. Any mail which you get as a forward from a group, just forward(re-direct) it to your friend groups. The main incentive you get is that, you get to play the role of a knowledge/fun conduit. Not to forget, your friends appreciation.I came to know about this while i was conversing with my friend. he was like Prashant, how come you forward such good mails. they are fabulous.Iam like: " oh, thats nothing." So you see, forwarding good mails do earn you a favourable opinion.

One of my senior has suggested "Why not post those forwards in your blog". At that time, i didnt give it much thought. Now that i think about it, i felt that it's not a bad idea either. So i decided to post Forwards, Post , Jokes, which i hope to be entertaining to the masses.

At the same time, the Question of copyright issue came into my mind. Now suppose, the original creator of the mail comes to know of this and feels bad that he has not been given the credit. (Not that i care about him getting credit or not, as Life is infair !!), rather i felt that i must do justice on my part.

So i had to break my head and come up with a "Disclaimer" on my own. Here's my official Disclaimer:

50-30-20 Rule - For Time Managers !!

Yup, you got it right !! This little post of mine is about Managing one's time. It is of common knowledge that Great People who have achieved Great things shared a trait of managing their time. Whenever one talks about time management, i recollect this quote:

"The Best way to predict your future is to create it"

Amazing isnt it when we realise how much we can achieve by managing out time properly. I have attended seminars on Time Management and what i have learned is "Fix your goals, always keep reminding yourself about your goals". I do understand that Goals and Time management are interwined, but at the same time iam unsure of how can we keep reminding ourself of our goals when we want to enjoy life. I mean it requires a great effort to be consciously aware of our goals every moment. But, we also have to manage our time, in such a way that it doesnt bore us out as well as is exciting.

I came across one principle which i found to be very powerful and quite useful. It is called "50-30-20" rule.
Now all you have to do is ,take a count of number of hours you have after deducting the hours for sleeping, eating. The remaining hours you divide it in the 50-30-20 ratio.
The 50% of the time, you use it for doing current day activity,(Working in ur company, Attending school for Childrens). The next 30%, you use for doing activities which will help you in achieving your immediate goals, eg. (Prepare for any exams, Learn more about the subject...)
and, the remaining 20%, you invest in activities, which will help you in achieving your goals 5 years from now.(Your favourite hobby, reading books,...)

Suppose you have 16 hrs in a day, taking off 50% of the time (8 hrs) for working, the remaining hrs you divide into 30-20 ratio. which will be, 3.4 hrs & 1.6 hrs. The 3.6 hrs is to enrich yourself, learning tech fundaes, read tech books, practice coding etc. The remaining 1.6 hrs, we invest in activities, either planning for ur long term future or taking steps to achieve them.

The thing i like about this is that it makes one think about his future goals. Even if one doesnt have a planned goals, atleast this technique will make you sit down and give it some thought.

I did follow it up for few days which were really memorable and fun !! Alas, wasnt able to continue it up more time.

Now hoping to be back on track. Lets see how soon i get back to old ways + days again. :)

P.S: Thank You Ganesh Sir, for sharing the technique with me.

The Phoenix raises from the Ashes !!

Well, before you start wondering which "Phoenix" Iam referring to, let me explain that i have taken the liberty to use that metaphor to imply me starting my blogging again. I had never liked blogs, the main reason being that i feel that people use blogs to spill out their woes, troubles & fancied imaginations.

Untill i came across some blogs which left me thinking about the power of blog. Well frankly saying, you do get a fan following, and thats a good incentive, which cannot be refused :) And some blogs discussing on general topics, gets you to know about a person's perspective on an issue. So well here Iam deciding to once again blog, to get a fan following :) (Thats a big Goal, at this stage, and i love Big Goals ).

I would like to thank few of my friends who directly or indirectly, played a part in my re-bloggaissance( blog renaissance). My humble thanks to my dear sister(Chinth) & my dear friend Arun who have been quite encouraging whenever i suggested that iam thinking of blogging. And one of my mentor Mr.Ganesh Srinivasan,an Alumni of my college with whom i had got acquainted. I used to send mail forwards to our college yahoo groups & he suggested me to put those in a blog so that other people can get benefitted. Thank you Sir, for those encouraging words.

And my friends Sriram & Sumathi who themselves are a different breed of bloggers and who have always encouraged me to pen down my thoughts in the blogosphere. A different breed coz by the time you finish their reading their blogs, you are left wondering about something. Thank you Guys !!

And 2 people who have got me inspired to start my blog again are Robin Sharma & SunderRajan. Robin Sharma is one of my mentors and when i was going through his book,The Greatness Guide, the fact that he also blogs inspired me a lot. Talking of modelling ur models !! (Will deal with it someother time). And then talking about SunderRajan, he is also a Alumnae of my college. i came across his blogs once and found it a bit different. And also the fact that he has got IIM calls, and the fact that blogging must have helped him improve his language usage and knowledge inspired me a lot, to start out on my own.

So thank you all named & unnamed folks, who did their share in helping me, iam out in the big blogosphere to learn & give something. And yes,not to forget the huge fan following ;).
